Connected Kids Nature School
This nature group provides young children with a learning community that supports them in growing up feeling connected to the web of life that surrounds them. In spending our days outside in beautiful places, we give our bodies a chance to connect to the natural rhythms of the world; the bubbling of the creek, bird songs, and wind moving through trees. I aim to build relationships with kids that reflect their inner goodness, vibrancy, and love for life. In these times of great turning, it’s my deepest longing to support this generation of children have real, palpable, relationships to the natural world. In so doing I know that they will move us forward into caring for the earth and our culture in impactful and new ways!
Our mornings, with kids ages 3-7, focus on supporting free play in nature. We spend our time interacting with plants, animals, the natural world, and our community. The days are crafted to create a predictable rhythm of handwork, gathering in circle for stories and songs, playing games, and having open time that allows the kids to follow their own interests and desires. Children receive heart centered support on building healthy social-emotional relationships with peers and with adults.
I am currently aiming to expand the program to have 6-9 children a day with two teachers!
